TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. FITNESS: My child is physically fit and able to participate in the sporting activities taking place during the program and accepts all risks resulting from his/her participation in these activities. I agree that CitySports Group or any of its member companies are not responsible for any injury, death or loss of property to any person suffered while participating or in any way involved in the program, save on the part of our negligence.
  1. MEDICAL ATTENTION: If my child needs medical attention during the program I allow him/her to be treated by a qualified emergency first aid staff member. I agree that CitySports Group or any of its member companies are not responsible for any medical emergencies arising from non-disclosure of relevant medical information.
  1. BEHAVIOR: My child will always conduct him/herself in an appropriate manner during the program and will not act improperly, violently or impolitely towards any other person or property. I confirm that my child will comply with the CitySports Group or any of its member companies’ regulations. I understand that CitySports Group or any of its member companies have the right to withdraw my child from the program in the event of serious misconduct.

 

  1. USE OF IMAGERY AND VIDEO: By agreeing to these terms and conditions below I acknowledge that CitSports Group or any of its member companies may use any photos, images or videos that we, or someone on our behalf, have taken of the student. We may also use any comments you make during or in connection with the program for promotional or marketing purposes (e.g. brochure, website, social media) without obtaining your further specific permission or making any payment to you. Such use may include mentioning your first name, age and country of residence.
  1. PERSONAL BELONGINGS: Please note that CitySports Group or any of its member companies accept no responsibility for pocket money or personal belongings which have not been given to CitySports Group or any of its member companies’ staff for safekeeping.
  1. PAYMENTS
  2. REFUND: Refund shall be considered after an application is submitted stating the reasons for the pull-out with a third-party document authenticating the request (for example, in the case of medical grounds, a physician report is required).

Refund of 85% of Tuition fees only will be considered if an application is submitted within one week of payment provided the program has not started.

  1. DEFERMENT OF PAYMENT: Deferment of payment to future terms is only possible provided application is made not later than three weeks into the program on the following conditions,
  2. When an application is made before the program commences, 100% of the sum paid will be deferred.
  3. When an application is made after the commencement of the program but not later than three weeks into the program, 60% of the sum paid will be deferred.

Upon approval of the deferred payment, the following conditions shall apply,

iii. Deferred payment would only last for two years from whence payment is made. Payment not utilized within two years would be forfeited.

  1. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) is/are required to give a three weeks’ notice ahead of time before claiming the deferred payment for any of our future program(s). This is to enable us to make adequate arrangement and ensure availability of slots. Failure to do so may results into loss of slot in the new program.
  2. In the case whereby the deferred payment is not sufficient for the new program fees, additional payment for the difference would be required before the registration for the new program is considered.
  3. However, when the deferred sum is more than the new program fee, the difference would be further deferred to future program(s) and all conditions of the deferment policy shall apply.

vii. In the event of a Lockdown (due to pandemic, civil unrest etc.), the CitySports School will make available alternative online classes and program to complete the term.

  1. PAYMENT IN INSTALMENT

Payment by instalment is not encouraged, however if requested, it shall only be permitted given the following criteria.

  1. For new students, first Instalment shall be
  2. 100% Registration fees
  3. 100% Kits fees
  4. Minimum of 20% Tuition fees
  • For returning students, first instalment shall be minimum of 40% Tuition fees
  • Balance payment of Tuition fees not later than three (3) weeks from first instalment payment.
  • Commitment: Postdated cheque is to be issued in favor of CitySports International School Ltd.
  1. PRORATION OF FEES

Proration of tuition only for late admission into the term, the following rate shall apply,

  1. 100% Registration fees
  1. 100% Kits fees
  1. Tuition fees.
  2. Within 3 weeks into the term, 100% Tuition fees
  3. 4-6 weeks of the program, 80% Tuition fees
  4. 7-9 weeks of the program, 60% Tuition fees
  5. 10th & 11th week of the program, 40% Tuition fees
  6. 12th week of the program, 20% Tuition fees
  1. PARENT(S) AND STUDENT(S) CODE OF CONDUCT: I will receive the Parents and Students Code of Conduct document during induction, and I will abide by it.
  1. COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS: Please note that, parents and students will be expected to adhere to Covid-19 Safety protocols which include, but is not limited to, the following:
  1. Washing of hands with soap & water and using alcohol-based hand sanitizer before access to the Turf is granted
  2. Wearing of face masks is mandatory for everyone as you enter our premises

iii. Temperature checks will be carried out before access to the playing area is granted.

  1. Allowing a minimum of two (2) meters between two individuals sitting in the stands.
  2. This may lead to restricting the number of parents/guardians or ward that come with the students.
  3. Frequent disinfection and sanitation of playing facilities and equipment

vii. Anyone showing any of COVID related symptoms will be asked to leave the premises. This will include siblings and any member of the person’s household.

  1. DISCOUNTS: The following discounts are available on Tuition only:
  2. Early Bird – 5% for first 10 to register.
  3. Annual Payment – 7.5% for those who pay for the 3 terms at once.

iii. Sibling – 5% for 2 or more siblings that register.

  1. Cancellation of training – 5% of tuition for the new term.
  2. Referral bonus – 5% for each student referred.
  3. Sports Parents – 10% for students whose parent won the award.

vii. Sports Leader Award – 50% to beneficiaries of this award for one year.

  1. INDUCTION
  2. Introduction

Induction is done for both student and parent(s)/ guardian(s) who are joining CitySports for the first time to familiarize them with the program and our code of ethics. Induction would only happen after fees have been made and admission letter for the student issued. Parents are required to book an appointment for the induction as written in the admission letter.

Induction program entails the following.

  1. Terms & Condition and Disclaimers to be discussed with the Parent(s) or Guardian(s).
  2. Comprehensive information about CitySports International School to be communicated.
  3. Giving of full details about of the Program,
  4. Introduction of CitySports School Coaches and Handlers.
  5. Sizing of the student.
  6. Releasing of personalize Kits.
  7. Question and Answer session.
  8. Photo-shoot session for the student.
  9. Signing of the Code of Conduct by the Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and the student(s).
  1. Requirements
  2. Students are to come with at least one parent or a legal guardian.
  3. For Pre-Academy and Pro-Performance classes, medical report for the child from a physician is to be submitted during the induction.
  4. Induction must precede the first training session. In other words, no induction; no resumption.
  5. All attendees are expected to observe the covid-19 protocols as will be communicated by City Sport School.

 

  1. SCHOOL ID CARD

It is our policy that all students must always come with their ID card in a visible manner while coming to training or any program.

  • The school provides all students with an ID card.
  • On entering the centers, students must be prepared to show and swipe their ID card at the center manager table.  In addition, where access control card readers are present, students need to ‘touch in’ their ID card to pass through the security barrier.
  • Students ID cards are issued to a specific person and are not transferable. Students must never allow another person, irrespective of whether they are also CitySports School students, to use their card to enter training premises.
  • Any student who persistently fails to wear/bring along their ID card, in contravention of this policy will be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Students Code of Conduct.  
  • If a student misplaces his/her ID card, they are expected to report the issue to the school then purchase a new one.
  1. PERSONALISED NUMBERING: For Basketball & Football students, numbers range from 1-99 for each development level (DL) and numbers are given based on availability on a first come first serve basis.

AVAILABILITY OF NUMBERS:

Available numbers are allocated on a first come, first serve basis after registration is complete.

  1. PROMOTION TO NEW DEVELOPMENT LEVEL:

A student will be promoted to a new Development Level, when:

  1. Student reaches the age of the new DL and has at least an average performance
  2. Student has displayed exceptional progress in the current level and requires the promotion for continued development
  3. A recommendation is brought up by the student’s coaches.

All promoted students will be required to get the shirts of the new DL to which they are promoted to.

  1. WITHDRAWAL OF JERSEY NUMBERS:
  2. The current Squad Numbers of the promoted student will be withdrawn and a new available number from the new DL will be assigned to the student. Once promoted the student will be given the opportunity to choose from available numbers in the new DL.
  1. A number will be withdrawn if a student is out of the program for more than ONE term. Students that fall in this category will be required to get another available number and a new sports jersey on their return.
  1. NO PETS: This policy states that parents, students or third party is not allowed to bring any type of pet to our training facilities or centers to avoid distractions and animal casualties during our programs.
  1. COMMUNICATIONS: Our means of communication are through phone calls, WhatsApp, other Social Media platforms and our website.

                            

  1. WhatsApp: Under this channel, all parents would be added to our WhatsApp group(s) which is according to the student(s)’s Development Levels and Centers. These groups serve as a medium for passing relevant information on a daily or weekly basis to keep parents informed about all activities as well as changes in our programs. In addition, students from ages 16 and above can be added to the WhatsApp group in relation to their selected sport(s).
  1. Other Social Media Platforms and Website: The communication channels include Instagram: @citysportsschool, YouTube: CitySports TV and Website: www.citysportsschool.com
  1. Email: On this channel, all enquiries, complaints, requests in terms of refund and deferment of payment can be sent by parents to ensure a more efficient and effective process. The email address city@citysportsschool.com
  1. MUTUAL RESPECT: This policy aims at creating and maintaining a working environment which is based on dignity and mutual respect amongst our students, parents and staff of CitySports School. CitySports Group and its subsidiaries oppose to any discrimination based on color, nationality, sex, race or creed. As an employer, we reserve the legal and moral responsibility to protect our employees from any form of harassment, abuse or unacceptable behavior in the cause of carrying out their assigned tasks.
  1. CHANGE IN CENTER: If a student who wishes to change his/her training center then an official request must be sent to admissions@citysportsschool.com and the student may have to change his/her jersey number if the present number have been assigned to another student in the new center. 
  1. CITYSPORTS LEAGUE (CSL): This is an in-house Sports competition in Basketball, Football and Swimming organized by CitySports as a developmental tool for all its students. It’s a Saturday only league across all our sports development centers.

Participating in CSL attracts a compulsory additional fee as follows:  

All development starter program and development level: N40,200.

However, for every developmental level except introduction level across all sports involved, it’s compulsory.

The additional fees cover Logistics, Branding, Media Coverage and so on.

  1. DATA PROTECTION POLICY: CitySports Group or any of its subsidiaries (“We”) are committed to protecting and respecting your (you, your) privacy. We take the privacy of all our customers and other users seriously and take great care to protect your personal information. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

  1. ALCOHOL, DRUGS & SMOKING POLICY.
  2. NO SMOKING POLICY: This policy is aims at providing a smoke-free sports environment for our students, parents and guests during trainings at our various centers. It seeks to emphasize the dangers of second-hand smoke which is harmful to the health. Therefore, smoking is disallowed at our training facilities.
  1. NO DRUGS POLICY: This policy prohibits the use of substances which include illegal drugs or use of prescription drugs more than the recommended prescription. CitySports Group intends to provide a safe and drug-free training environment for our students, clients and employees.
  1. NO ALCOHOL POLICY: This states that drinking of alcohol in our sports facilities is prohibited as it can influence the student’s behavior negatively. Failure to abide by the stated policies after warning can lead to suspension/prohibition of the influencing party from attending our sports programs or dismissal of the student when their parent/guardian smoking behavior persists.
  1. CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOUR: When you make a booking through us, you accept responsibility for the proper conduct of all students included on your booking. We reserve the right to cancel a student’s program at any time with no refunds, if, in the reasonable opinion of the Company or the School, the student’s behaviour is disruptive or unsatisfactory (including if the student causes, or is likely to cause, danger, upset or distress to anyone else or damage to property). Our decision is final. We shall be under no obligation to pay compensation or meet any costs you may incur because of the termination of your program.

 

  1. SAFEGUARDING POLICY: CitySports is committed to the belief that all young people have a right to protection and the needs of young people and others who may be particularly vulnerable must be considered. We are committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all young people involved in our program through the operation of our Child Protection Policies in line with standards of the Safeguarding Policy. As a result of this commitment, CitySports has a duty of care to directly safeguard from harm to all young people involved in any program and activity that we deliver. CitySports also has the responsibility to ensure that, within all the programs we deliver, any partner organisations must also have established policies and provide protection to young people. CitySports is committed to devising and implementing policies so that everyone in the organisation, whether they are paid staff or volunteers, accepts their responsibilities to safeguard young people from harm and abuse. This means to follow procedures to protect young people and report any concerns about their welfare to appropriate authorities. See our Safeguarding Policy

  1.   • However, when the deferred sum is more than the new program fee, the difference would be further deferred to future program(s) and all conditions of the deferment policy shall apply.
  • In the event of a Lockdown (due to pandemic, civil unrest etc.), the CitySports will make available alternative online classes and programs to complete the term.

 

  1. TERM WITHDRAWAL POLICY: This applies in situations whereby a student needs to call-off the program during a running term due to unforeseen contingencies other than issues arising from training or playing injuries. Repayment of DISCOUNTED FEES in the subsequent program shall be considered after an application is submitted stating the reasons for the pull-out with a third-party document authenticating the request attached (for example, in the case of medical grounds, a physician report is required).

 

Upon approval of the reasons for the pull-out, the proration shall be as follows if made within:

  • 3 weeks into the beginning of the term, not more than 50% of Tuition fees only.
  • 4-6 weeks into the program, not more than 20% of the Tuition fees only.
  • 7th week of the program, not more than 10% of the Tuition fees only.
  • 8-12 weeks into the program, no repayment would be considered.
  • No repayment would be considered for players who take intermittent breaks.

I acknowledge that I have read, understood and agreed to the terms & conditions in section A & B of this contract with CitySports.

  1. CONDITIONS: Please read these booking conditions carefully. The term ‘student’ or ‘you’ refers to the student. 
  1. YOUR CONTRACT:Your contract is with CitySports School Limited, here referred to as CitySports (a member of CitySports Group), a company registered in Nigeria (RC No. 1642268)
  • If you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must make the booking on your behalf and accept these booking conditions.
  • When the completed application form has been received and the total amount (deposit or full payment) has been paid, CitySports will send a confirmation of booking, invoice and, if required, a visa support letter. CitySports will also provide an information pack relating to the program. The pack will contain vital information concerning what to bring, airport transfer details and pocket money information.
  • A contract will exist once we issue your invoice. This contract is made on the terms of these booking conditions. This contract, and any other claim or dispute arising from or related to this contract, will be governed by Nigerian law and the courts of Nigeria shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising out of it. 
  1. CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT: We will confirm booking based on receiving at least a 50% program fee deposit. You can pay by cash, bank transfer, direct deposit and online transfer. Bank details for bank transfers will be provided at the time of booking.
  • We reserve the right to cancel a booking without refund or compensation if payments are not made when due.
  • All students must pay in advance of their program start date. Full booking fees are due and must be paid by 5 weeks to the event start date. (May 17, 2024)
  • If you require the services of a courier to deliver your documentation and kits, the cost incurred will be paid by you. All payments are to be made in specified currencies. 
  1. WHAT YOU PAY: All prices we advertise are accurate at the date published. We reserve the right to change any of those prices from time to time. You will be advised of the current price of the program before your contract is confirmed. 
  1. IF YOU CANCEL YOUR BOOKING: If you wish to cancel a booking for any reason, the person who made the booking must put such a request to cancel in writing to us.
  2. If you wish to cancel a booking due to a visa refusal, we will refund any program fees which have been paid by you, less the administration fee of €250 and any other charges incurred during the visa application process, provided the visa rejection comes at least 30 days before the trip. If Visa rejection comes less than 30 days before the trip, other deductions may apply.
  3. If a participant withdraws for reasons other than visa refusal and participant have not made full payment at the agreed date before withdrawal, participant is still required to make full payment upon withdrawal from the program and CitySports can also demand reasonable compensation for the arrangements and expenses made.
  • If you wish to cancel a booking for any reason other than visa refusal, application for refund in cases such as cancellations depends on the amount of notice given and are as specified below:
  • From April 19 – May 8: Refund of 65% of the program fees, less the administration fee of €250 and any other charges incurred provided the full payment has been made.
  • From May 9 – May 23: Refund of 40% of the program fees, less the administration fee of €250 and any other charges incurred, and any other charges incurred provided the full payment has been made.
  • From May 24 – June 26: No refund will be given. 
  • If CitySports cancels a program, the program fees shall be refunded in full.
  • Please note that refunds on Tickets bought will be strictly in line with the Airline’s Policy.
  1. IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR BOOKING:All information provided by CitySports is our responsibility. We reserve the right to alter any particulars such as fees at the discretion of the company. We reserve the right to cancel any program or close any center for whatever reason. Should this be necessary, we shall offer either a full refund of the program fees or an alternative program or programs for the same value. We will not be responsible to pay any compensation following a change or a cancellation by you and we will not be liable to reimburse you for any amendment or cancellation fees you incur in terms of other arrangements you have made with other providers under separate contracts.  

P.S.: Our COVID-19 promise guarantees a full refund of the program fees if the event is cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions or if circumstances prevent travel between one’s home country and Germany.

  1. VISA:
  1. Where applicable, CitySports and its partner company will provide the necessary documentation to enable students to secure their visas for the program. However, we can only provide such visa service on receipt of 100% of the total fees.
  2. If you wish to cancel a booking due to a visa refusal, we will refund any program fees which have been paid by you, less the administration fee of €250 and any other charges incurred during the visa application process, provided the visa application is done 30 days before the trip. If Visa rejection comes less than 30 days before the trip, other deductions may apply.
  3. We cannot be held responsible for any errors made during your visa application process, so ensure that you provide all the necessary requirements. Should a student be unsuccessful in their visa application, cancellation policies stated in section 5A and 7B will apply.
  4. If you have a valid Visa, you are responsible for checking that you have been issued with the correct visa type for this trip, as we cannot be held responsible if you are stopped from flying out of Nigeria or denied entry into Germany due to your visa type or for any other reason.
  5. CitySports will not be held responsible for any visa rejection. We do not guarantee visa approval, as every visa approval or rejection is at the desecration of the Consular Office.
  6. Visa fee and visa appointment fee is not included in the program fee, this will be paid separately during the visa appointment preparation.
  1. COVID-19 TEST PROTOCOL: To guarantee a safe environment, all students who register for this program must submit a Negative PCR COVID-19 test taken within 24 – 48 hours prior to departure from Nigeria.
  2. PRE-TOURNAMENT HEALTH ASSESSMENT (PTHA):Every student is to undergo a pre-tournament health assessment. This is to determine if the student can undertake the inherent requirements of the competition in a safe manner. The first requirement is to complete the PTHA Form and students will be directed afterwards.
  3. ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE DATES: All students should arrive on time and ready to start the program as communicated. There will be no compensation due for late arrivals and/or missed lessons, activities, and excursions because of not arriving on a scheduled arrival date and time. 
  4. ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCES: Full attendance is required. Absence from lessons is not compensated. 
  5. CERTIFICATE/MEDALLION:You will be issued a certificate/medallion at the end of your program, during the Awards Night provided you have 100% attendance. 
  6. HEALTH & SAFETY: We operate a rigorous Health & Safety policy. Staff undergo a period of training and orientation prior to students arriving at each center. All the relevant student-teacher ratios are strictly adhered to. 
  7. MEDICAL: Each center has a fully qualified First Aider and Safeguarding Officer on site. In addition, all centers have excellent links with local accident & emergency facilities.
  8. FOOD: We provide tasty nutritious meals with a choice of hot or cold food. Most dietary requirements can be catered to, please advise us of any requirements at the time of booking. Please note there may be a supplementary charge. 
  9. GSP LOYALTY DISCOUNT: CitySports will offer a loyalty discount to all our students who has attended any of our GSP programs in the past 2 years (2022 – 2024)
  1. One Year – €60
  2. Two Years – €100
  3. Three Years – €140
  1. FORCE MAJEURE: We will not be liable in the event of ‘force majeure’ such as a pandemic, fire, flooding, infectious diseases and other events outside the company’s reasonable control which may cause the closure of the program, and no refund of fees or compensation will be made to students because of such events, except at the school’s discretion in exceptional circumstances.
  2. INSURANCE: Insurance is provided by CitySports for students who will be travelling with us. It is a travel, accident & health insurance for the trip. It is mandatory that every student has insurance to cover such events as program cancellation or curtailment, medical repatriation, and personal liability. If you do not have an adequate insurance policy and an incident occurs, you will be responsible for all costs incurred.
  3. COMPLAINTS: If you have any complaints, you should immediately notify a member of staff. In the unlikely event that this is not resolved to your satisfaction; you should write to the head office in English: CitySports Ltd, 15E Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. We will investigate your complaint, and we will provide an appropriate response. To be given a reasonable chance of addressing your complaint, please ensure it is received within one month of the end of your program. If the complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact us.

I acknowledge that I have read, understood and agreed to the terms & conditions in section A & B of this contract with CitySports.

Please carefully read the following terms and conditions before applying to the Football/Basketball Academy program offered by CitySports. These terms and conditions govern the relationship between CitySports and the athletes aged between 10 and 22 years old who participate in the program. By applying, you acknowledge your understanding and agreement to comply with these terms and conditions.

  1. AUTHORIZATION: I authorize my child to participate at the CitySports Academy as a father/mother/legal guardian/agent of the minor or under my responsibility because I am over 18 years old, from this point referred as “Athlete”, I declare that the athlete is suitable for the sport and present a medical report under my responsibility before the Program.
  2. PRE-ASSESSMENT MEDICAL CLEARANCE: This states that every athlete must have a pre-assessment medical to ascertain if they are fit to carry out the training and drills before enrollment is processed. Pre-Assessment medicals doesn’t guarantee admission into CitySports Academy and failure to pass the medical examinations might affect your chances of being admitted. If further assessment is required due to a discovery, the parent shall bear the additional expense incurred.
  3. ACCEPTANCE: Athletes are accepted into the academy based on the following terms:
  1. Athlete has participated in CitySports screening and has been selected.
  2. After the registration form has been successfully filled and submitted.
  3. Athlete has successfully passed the pre-assessment medicals at the designated medical facility provided by CitySports.
  4. All fees are paid to the CitySports.
  1. NON-REFUNDABLE FEES: The listed fees are non-refundable which are the registration, pre-assessment medical and processing fees. Refund of Program fee can only be considered before the commencement of the residency program. After the program begins, no refund will be considered.

 

  1. SLOT AVAILABILITY: The number of slots is limited and are assigned based on a first come first serve basis. Once the available slots are filled the admission portal will be closed.

 

  1. MISCONDUCT: CitySports is not responsible for any illegal actions performed by athletes outside the training facility, residence or shared flats. And if the athlete is under the age of 18, then the parents of the athlete must be charged with any fines imposed by the police or any other indirect expenses.

 

  1. PROHIBITION: It is forbidden to steal, break or vandalize anything (or any uncivil act like this, and to smoke, drink or consume any narcotic substances. If any extraordinary event occurs, inform the staff who is present as soon as possible. These actions are a serious breach. The athlete who does this kind of action could be penalized with expulsion from the academy.

 

  1. COHABITATION (RESIDENTIAL ATHELETES): The stay at the residence or shared flat requires proper conduct and compliance with the established rules as well as fulfilment of the tasks assigned for the sake of harmonious coexistence.

 

  1. TERMINATION OF ENROLLMENT: CitySports reserves the right to terminate a participant’s enrollment in the football/basketball academy program in the event of non-compliance with the terms and conditions, repeated disciplinary infractions, academic failure, or any other valid reason determined by CitySports. In the case of termination, athletes may be required to vacate the accommodation if he is a residential athlete within a specified timeframe and will not be entitled to any refund of fees.

 

  1. INSTALMENT: Payment by instalment is not encouraged, however if requested, it shall only be permitted given the following criteria. 
  2. For new students: First Instalment shall be based on:
  • 100% Registration fee
  • 100% Processing fee
  • Minimum of 40% Program fee. 
  1. For returning students: The first instalment shall be a minimum of 60% Program fee and balance payment of 40% Program fee not later than three (3) weeks from first instalment payment. 
  • Please note that failure to follow the guideline may result in the student being stopped from attending sessions.

 

  1. ACCOMMODATION (RESIDENTIAL ATHLETES): The accommodation during the coexistence will be in shared rooms with access to a shared bathroom.

 

  1. WEAPONS: Students shall not carry or possess any firearm, knife, weapon, or object that could be used as a weapon. It is made known that the possession of a firearm, a knife, a weapon or an object that can be used as a weapon, is grounds for immediate expulsion from the CitySports. Parents or guardians will be notified immediately to pick up the athlete.

 

  1. ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES: This policy states that the possession or sale of controlled substances, by any person as well as being under the influence of alcoholic beverages and/or hallucinogenic drugs or a combination of drugs or substances that have hallucinogenic effects will result to expulsion of the athlete.

 

  1. MEDICATIONS: This states that the possession of prescription drugs, or any other over-the-counter drug, that have not been specifically requested for the athlete by a doctor, or by the athlete’s parent or guardian, will lead to the expulsion of the athlete. Self-medication is totally prohibited, and all medication taken by any person carrying out the activity must be notified in writing by the Parents or Guardians to CitySports and with acknowledgment of receipt by email csra@citysportsschool.com

 

  1. INDUCTION: Induction is done for both athlete and parent(s)/ guardian(s) who are joining CitySports Academy for the first time to familiarize them with the program and our code of ethics. Induction would only happen afterfees have been made and admission letter for the athlete issued. Parents are required to book an appointment for the induction as written in the admission letter. The onboarding process entails the following: 
  2. Pre-assessment medicals to be done at the medical facility recommended by CitySports.
  3. Code of Conduct, Terms & Conditions and Disclaimers to be discussed with the Parent(s) or Guardian(s).
  • Comprehensive information about CitySports Academy to be communicated. 
  1. Kit sizing for the athlete and the branding of Kits. 
  2. Photo-shoot session for the athlete.

Other requirements include: 

  1. Athletes are to come with at least one parent or a legal guardian for those who are under 18 years. 
  2. Onboarding must precede the first training session.
  • Introduction of Academy Coaches and Handlers. 

 

  1. Onboarding would only happen after fees have been made and the admission letter for the athlete is issued.   1. Kit sizing for the athlete and the branding of Kits. 
  2. Photo-shoot session for the athlete.

  1. OUR VALUES: This policy outlines that we integrate our Christian values which includes fostering personal growth, respect and integrity as well as biblical principles into our operations, ensuring a supportive community for all athletes, staff and stakeholders of CitySports. By participating in CitySports, all stakeholders agree to comply with this policy and actively contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive environment.
  2. MEDICAL AND INSURANCE:
  1. Athletes must have accurate and up-to-date medical information, including any existing medical conditions, allergies, medications, and emergency contact details.
  2. CitySports would provide insurance coverage for athletes during their time at the Academy, subject to the terms and limitations of the policy.
  3. In case of injury or illness during the program, Athletes will be provided with appropriate medical assistance.
  1. AMENDMENTS AND MODIFICATIONS: CitySports eserves the right to amend or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Athletes will be notified of any changes, and their continued participation in the program will be considered acceptance of the updated terms and conditions.
  2. LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES: Athletes are expected to treat academy facilities, equipment and property with care. Parents/Guardians assume responsibility for any damages caused due to negligence or intentional misconduct by the responsible athlete being held financially liable for repairs or replacements depending on the level of damage.
  3. INJURY: In the event of an injury during training, matches or any academy-related activity, the injured athlete must immediately notify the medic, coaches or house master. All injuries regardless of the severity must be documented in the academy’s injury report.
  4. FORCE MAJEURE: CitySports shall not be held liable or responsible for any delays, failures, or interruptions in the academy activities caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, civil unrest, or governmental restrictions.
  5. PRIOR APPROVAL FOR OUTING (RESIDENTIAL ATHLETES): All proposed outings must receive prior approval from the academy management or house master. Requests for outings should include details about the purpose, location, duration, and transportation.
  6. VISITATION (RESIDENTIAL ATHLETES): Parents/Guardians must adhere to the academy’s regulations and must be approved in advance before visitation. Visitation days and hours are on the last Sunday of each month between 10am – 2pm and no unauthorized visitors are allowed in the residency housing facility.
  7. FREE TIME (RESIDENTIAL ATHLETES): Athletes should be aware that the residency programs are academic and athletic in nature and that “free time” is somewhat limited. Kindly note that there will be occasional “down time” between activities when Athletes will be responsible for entertaining themselves for short periods of time at the residential lodging facility. This time is intended for rest, calling or emailing home, personal time in the room for study, watching TV and so on.
  8. CULTURAL SENSITIVITY: Athletes must respect and appreciate the diverse backgrounds and cultures of their teammates, opponents and staff of CitySports.
  9. EMERGENCY PROTOCOLS: CitySports will provide clear emergency protocols and contacts for various situations, including medical emergencies and evacuations to a designated medical facility.
  10. 28TRANSPORTATION SAFETY: CitySports is responsible for arranging transportation to and from matches, tournaments, and training sessions held outside the residential or non-residential training premises which are within Lagos state, Nigeria. CitySports will provide guidelines for safe travel arrangements.
  11. 29DIET AND NUTRITION: CitySports will provide guidelines for a balanced diet and proper nutrition to support the physical demands of training and matches. In addition, athletes who have specific dietary requirements would attract an additional cost to meet their needs for residential athletes.
  12. DISCONTINUATION: In the event, an athlete decides to discontinue their participation in the academy program, they must follow CitySports’s established withdrawal procedure which states that no refund would be made in such a case.
  13. TOURNAMENTS AND TRAVEL: Athletes may be required to participate in local and international tournaments and tryouts for matches. Parental consent and permissions will be obtained as necessary as the cost of the international tournaments/tryouts would be borne by the parents/guardians of the athlete.
  14. 32UNIFORM CODE: Athletes are required to wear designated training and match kit during sports-related activities provided by CitySports. Sports Kit should be always kept clean and presentable.
  15. 33CURRICULUM INTEGRATION: The Academy is designed to complement the academic curriculum, and athletes are expected to manage their time effectively between studies and training. Academic studies for residential athletes must be strictly online to ensure a proper balance between sports and academics.
  16. TRAINING SCHEDULE: CitySports will provide a detailed training schedule in advance, and athletes are expected to attend all sessions punctually.
  17. PROGRAM DURATION: The Academy is an 11-month commitment, with scheduled breaks and holidays aligning with the sports calendar provided by CitySports. There are short stay plans for a duration of 3 months and 6 months depending on the athlete’s sports goals.
  18. PROGRAM ACTIVITY ATTENDANCE: It is crucial that athletes attend all language classes and football training to keep up with their scheduled activities. Each athlete is expected to maintain 100% attendance to all scheduled activities (including sport, language classes, social activities and so on.
  19. 37GOVERNING LAW: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  20. REQUESTS AND NOTICES: Any request or notice required or permitted shall be sent to CitySports office address or email address specified below or at such other address CitySports shall specify in writing to the Parent and/or Athlete at the address specified on the Program application or at such other address as Parent and/or Participant shall provide to CitySports in writing.

CODE OF CONDUCT: CS RESIDENCY ACADEMY2.5

The Academy head coach and house master shall serve as mentors and provide guidance to athletes, promoting personal growth and responsible behaviors.

The Academy program at CitySports aims to foster a positive and respectful environment for all participants, including coaches/trainers, house masters, parents, and athletes aged between 10 and 22 years old. The following code of conduct outlines the expected behaviors and responsibilities of each party involved. By participating in the program, you acknowledge your understanding and agreement to comply with this code of conduct.

  1. COACHES AND TRAINERS:
    1. Coaches and trainers shall act as positive role models, promoting fair play, integrity, and sportsmanship.
    2. Coaches and trainers shall treat all athletes with respect, fairness, and impartiality, regardless of their skill level or background.
  • Coaches and trainers shall provide constructive feedback and guidance to help athletes improve their skills and reach their potential.
  1. Coaches and trainers shall prioritize the safety and well-being of athletes and take appropriate measures to prevent injuries.
  2. Coaches and trainers shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to coaching and athlete development.
  3. HOUSE MASTER (RESIDENTIAL ATHLETES):
  4. The house master shall ensure the safety, well-being, and discipline of the athletes residing in the accommodation.
  5. The house master shall maintain a supportive and inclusive living environment, fostering positive relationships among the athletes.
  • The house master shall enforce the rules and regulations set by CitySports Residency Academy regarding accommodation and facility usage.
  1. The house master shall address any issues or concerns raised by the athletes promptly and take appropriate actions as necessary.
  2. The house master shall not have any romantic relationship with any staff or student of the Residency Academy.
  3. The house master shall not accept gifts from the athletes in cash or kind. 
  • The house master must report any gift received from parents whether in cash or kind to the authorities of CitySports.
  1. PARENTS:
  2. Parents shall support the athlete’s participation in the academy program and encourage their commitment and dedication.
  3. Parents shall respect the authority and decisions of the coaches, trainers, and house master, understanding their expertise and experience.
  • Parents shall foster a positive and supportive environment for their child, promoting good sportsmanship and respect for others.
  1. Parents shall communicate with CitySports and the program staff in a respectful and constructive manner, addressing any concerns or issues through appropriate channels.
  2. Parents shall adhere to the guidelines and policies set by CitySports regarding parental involvement and participation in the program.
  3. ATHLETES:
  1. Athletes shall demonstrate good sportsmanship, integrity, and respect towards teammates, coaches/trainers, opponents, officials, and staff.
  2. Athletes shall follow the rules and regulations set by CitySports Academy, both on and off the field, including those related to behaviors, academics, and attendance.
  • Athletes shall prioritize their physical and mental well-being, including proper nutrition, rest, and hydration, to maintain optimal performance.
  1. Athletes shall attend all required training sessions, workshops, academic activities and team events unless excused due to valid reasons approved by CitySports Academy.
  2. Athletes shall refrain from any form of substance abuse, including drugs and alcohol, during the program, as it poses a risk to their health and performance.

Athletes shall promptly report any injuries, illnesses, or concerns regarding their well-being to the appropriate program staff.
